Dear Mr. Trump & Governor Pence,
Congratulations! You are the President-elect and Vice President-elect. We understand this required a lot of money, time, and sacrifice to accomplish.
However, please understand that as I write this post more Americans voted for Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine than for you – 164,741 to be exact. This means the country is divided. You need to spend time reaching across party lines. Include more people than you exclude. And remember the hundreds of thousands of local candidates who also got elected last night who will need the federal government’s support in times of crisis.
It also looks like the Republicans maintained majorities in the Senate and House. Hoo-rah for Republicans, right?! No. Do not be tempted to take advantage of the situation. Governor, take what you did for Hoosiers to D.C. – make America the best place to start and grow your business; give power back to the states; reduce regulations; and eliminate barriers to entry into the workforce. Always remember, people care most about jobs and education. These should be your governing principles.
“From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from the one to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded.”
The ball is in your court now. Please move our wonderful country forward by focusing on what matters most: US in the USA.
