Here’s the difference between Centaur Gaming and your average candidate: We understand that November 9th, the day after the election, is no time to relax, take a vacation, or gloat in the thrill of victory. No, no, no…. rather, it’s the day we roll up our sleeves and begin delivering on our promise to continue racing ahead for Indiana!
Over the next twelve months…
• You’ll see the opening of the Centaur Equine Diagnostic and Surgical Center, located in a 123,000 square foot complex near Indiana Grand Racing & Casino in Shelbyville. This state-of-the art facility will serve as a satellite facility of Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, providing specialty medical and surgical services for horse owners and supporting equine research and education of future equine specialists.
• In conjunction with Shelby County and the city of Shelbyville, we’ll help finance the rebuilding of five local bridges as part of the Commissioners’ “2016-2017 Accelerated Bridge Improvement Plan.”
• Hoosier Park Racing & Casino in Anderson will serve as the presenting sponsor of the Dan Patch Awards in Las Vegas, which recognize the top equine and human performers, Harness Horse of the Year, and the newest members of the Hall of Fame.
• The Breeders Crown, harness racing’s 33-year-old annual series of 12 championship events, valued at $5.8 million and considered the Standardbred equivalent of the Breeders Cup for Thoroughbreds, will race at Hoosier Park. This will bring thousands of racing fans and members of the horse racing industry to our property and will be showcased to thousands more across the world. With chairman and CEO Rod Ratcliff as the driving force, Centaur has aggressively worked to show harness racing in the best light, and the efforts have been noticed by those in and outside Indiana.
More importantly, however, we’ll continue our commitment to being a proactive corporate citizen to local agencies and charities across the state, adding to our ongoing contributions of time, energy, and monetary support. We’ll add to our existing number of 2,000 team members across Indiana, who also serve as volunteers and local board appointees maintain throughout Indiana as a way to give back to the local and surrounding communities.
You see, Centaur Gaming is an Indiana-owned and operated company, with its headquarters in Indianapolis, and employs over 2,000 Hoosiers at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino in Anderson, Indiana Grand Racing & Casino in Shelbyville, and three additional off-track betting locations in Indiana including the Winner’s Circle Pub, Grille & OTB in downtown Indianapolis and Winner’s Circle OTB and VooDoo BBQ & Grill in New Haven/Fort Wayne. Our race track casinos were recently named the Indianapolis area’s most popular attractions, welcoming more than six million visitors each year.
The bottom line is that we are making good on our 20-year company mission of bringing the economic and entertainment benefits of horse racing and casino gaming to communities throughout Indiana, and will continue to do so.
That being said, at Centaur Gaming, we don’t play games when it comes to doing what’s right for Indiana and the people who live here. So, when you hear politicians talk about all the things they will do if you elect them, just remember that Centaur Gaming has already done it – and we will continue doing our part to make Indiana the best place in the country to live, work, raise a family and of course… race horses!
